I can see what the author was trying to do by adding a ghost to differentiate her story from other geezer lit/cozy lit genre books. But for me the ghost didn't add any enjoyment to the story, if anything he was a little unlikable. The story starts off with an old solo RV traveler pulling into a park and witnessing a bit of a domestic by the owner and a man. The woman is crying but since that's where she has to check in, she's got to approach her. It's not long before the guy she was arguing with is dead. Can the old lady and the ghost solve the mystery?There's nothing overall wrong with the story, it just didn't do anything for me.

I'm a full time RVer so was interested in storyline. This was a good, fascinating read. The ghost adds so much intrigue to the mystery. I'll surely read more by Minnie. I travel with a dog & cat, but a good looking ghost is welcome anytime. There are so many stories along the wayside and this woman will enjoy Minnie's adventures.
I like the concept of this new short stories series. Minnie and her 255 year old ghostly traveling companion are starting out on their traveling adventures. The way Minnie and Sam can communicate with one another while being in the company of others is different than other books. At least people around you can not think your crazy talking to yourself. Sam has a very noble British accent which I love. I will continue to follow up on their next stopping point.
As per the 41 year old Mom Lachnes Monster " I really loved this book and I absolutely adore the entire series!. I have read all books in the series that are available to date and I will continue to read future books as well. This however, is book number 1 that immediately drew me in and had my attention fully! I am keeping my eye on this author! It is a very light hearted book and series. The books are a wonderful escape from a busy day, easy to read, the plot is fantastic, and the length is perfect. Very well written, engaged me immediately with book one, sentence one. Highly recommended!"
I liked Minnie, her reactions to things are so on point. I had wondered why she wrote in the first person, as herself, but it is a nice departure from the usual story. Her sidekick is delightful. I look forward to reading more of their adventures.
This was a charming story with good writing, fun conversation with a ghost, and a murder thrown in. Murder is serious, but there are some smiley points along the way to a solution. I can see how this series will be all over the map as the main character is traveling the United Statesin her RV. This isn't deep or heavily psychological, but it is a light read which we all need at times. It was an enjoyable read.
I really enjoyed this cozy mystery! It was fun to follow Minnie on her camping adventure at Happy Trails RV Park in Spokane, Washington. She is a strong, brave woman who is taking an early retirement and traveling around in her RV on her own. Well, not entirely on her own, she does have an early 19th century ghost as her traveling companion. Which is a fun component to the story. I also liked meeting her colorful neighbors (ahem...suspects). The mystery kept me guessing the whole time. I will definitely continue reading this series. Don't miss this fun, short camping cozy!
This story was quick, and really fun to read! Minnie is a 40-something, single woman who is independent and adventurous enough to sell everything she has and travel the country in her RV. I truly enjoyed her character, as she always seemed to be in the wrong place at the right time (something I could see happening to myself). Her interaction with Ben is playful and fun...what single woman wouldn't want a 19th century ghost talking (with a British accent) and flirting in your ear (as well as being extremely helpful in the crime-solving adventures)? I look forward to more books in this series...I am eager to hear more about Ben and Minnie and where the road takes them!
